What we must have while studying abroad is our alien registration card! But the alien registration card is not actually valid! After the holding period has passed, since we are illegal residents, make sure to check the holding period and go ahead to extend it.
Usually, our foreign friends are on D-4 or D-2 visas, and most of them will be very helpful at the department of international affairs at universities!
Of course, it's good to be able to get help, but it may take some time because many students apply for documents at once! If you are in a hurry, you can easily and quickly extend it!
There are two ways in total: 1) Visiting the immigration office in person 2) Applying for a civil complaint in Hi Korea
So what kind of documents each one needs and how to apply?
1) Direct visit to the immigration office
Documents to prepare:
1)Certificate of enrollment2)Certificate of academic transcript3)Certificate of payment of tuition/certificate of receipt of scholarship
PS: There is a department that issues certificates within the school, so you can easily get it~
4) House contract 5) Copy of passport 6) Original alien registration card 7) Fee 60,000 won

Should I prepare all these documents and go to the immigration office? Originally, you can do this, but now you have to make a reservation online to go!
It is possible to extend the same day by taking the documents after completing the reservation application for the visit, but the reservation is full, so I did not recommend it to someone in a hurry like me!
Online reservation process:
1) Join Hi Korea - 2) Log in 3) Reservation on visit 4) Reservation for application for residence permit 5) Extension of period of stay
6) Select the date of visit (greyed out date cannot be reserved) 7) Write the purpose of visit 8) Apply
After completing the application for a reservation for a visit, you can take care of the documents and extend it on the same day, but the reservation is full, so I wouldn't recommend it to someone who is a bit impatient like me!
2) Hi Korea civil application
Documents to prepare:
Save all these 4 documents to your computer as a photo or PDF version!!
Application procedure:
1) Join Hi Korea 2) Log in 3) Apply for Civil Service 4) Extend the period of stay for registered foreigners
5) Write the reason for application 6) Attach documents (upload the 4 electronic version documents you just prepared) 7) Apply 8) Pay the fee
PS: There are various payment methods, but it can be a little annoying to set up the app, so I made real-time bank transfer!
After payment is finished, you can go to My Phase and check the processing status, which is very convenient.
And I applied for Wednesday and it was extended right next time!! Faster than you think! lol
