As you know, you have to take the Korean Language Proficiency Test to get into Korean universities.

Personally, I started studying Korean at a Chinese academy in September 2019.

I was going to come to Korea in February 2020, but my flight was canceled due to corona, and I studied Korean alone at home for half a year. I came to Korea in August 2020 and while adjusting to life in Korea, I passed level 6 of the Korean Proficiency Test in November.

Then, how can I get TOPIK level 6 in 2 years?

Today, I will tell you some tips for the TOPIK test.

1️⃣ Pronunciation

When you first start studying Korean, I would like to tell you not to be in a hurry and study pronunciation properly. Pronunciation is very important. Because if your pronunciation is good, not only can you get a high score in the listening test, but it will also help you a lot when living in Korea in the future. Therefore, do not neglect the importance of pronunciation and study many Korean pronunciations well.

2️⃣ Write

I've heard many times that the writing test is difficult in the topic test. However, to write well, it is important to practice writing a lot, but you also need to know the technique of writing well.

And the less you write, the better.

I bought a writing book and continued practicing according to the writing book. As you practice, you will come across many similarly styled sentences over and over again. I want to be able to memorize as many sentences as possible and use them when taking tests.

3️⃣ Words

I believe that the soul of language is words. The TOPIK test can also reflect the vocabulary skills of foreigners! Also, there are so many foreign words in Korea, so if you are good at English, it will be easier for you to study.

Words cannot be memorized all at once. So, it is recommended to memorize 20 to 30 Korean words every day. The more you accumulate, the more miracles will come!

4️⃣ Korean News

For those who want to take the Advanced Topic Test, we recommend watching a lot of Korean news. For example, you can see news such as Naver News, SNS News, and MBC.. Not only can you hear Korean with accurate pronunciation through the news, but you can also learn the topics covered by the news and various events happening in Korean society in the reading test!

5️⃣ Korean dramas, Korean movies

Friends at the beginner level of Korean can find and watch Korean dramas and movies with bilingual subtitles. Friends at the beginner level do not look at their native language as much as possible and only look at it when they do not know it. Intermediate and advanced level friends may not be able to adapt at first, but if you watch it, you will get used to it and improve your Korean skills!
