Hello~ I am a writer from China.

If you are planning to study in Korea, it is clear that you have started thinking about the essentials you will need. Here, I would like to share my personal experience and advice to help you plan and prepare for your study abroad life more smoothly. Proper preparation while studying in Korea will provide a more comfortable, safe and enjoyable study abroad life.

The first thing we need is our visa and passport. This is because the passport is a symbol of our identity when we first came to Korea and did not receive an alien registration card. Everyone should take good care of their passports.

You must also carry your national identification card with you. Because when you apply for a job at an overseas embassy or consulate, sometimes you need an ID.

So let me tell you more about the necessities I think you should carry!

1. Conversion plug : Conversion plug can be purchased locally in Korea, but it is recommended that those who are new to Korea purchase and bring it home, considering that they do not know much about shopping in Korea or their Korean language skills have improved. Plugs are cheaper than Korea.

2. Medicine : To buy medicine in Korea, go to the hospital, get a checkup, and the doctor will issue a prescription, and we take the prescription and buy it directly from the pharmacy. However, most painkillers can be purchased at franchise convenience stores in Korea. Other medicines I think it would be better to buy it in Korea and bring it to Korea. This way, you don't have to worry about not being able to communicate at the hospital because you're not good at Korean.

3. Korean books : If you are a friend who is not good at Korean, I recommend that you purchase Korean-related books again in Korea. This is because Korean books are sold at twice or three times more expensive than domestic ones due to copyright fees.

4. Mobile phone : Some software, such as Huawei, cannot be downloaded in Korea. For some reason, we recommend that you carry an iPhone or Samsung mobile phone more comfortable. You can make a living, but it may be limited in some areas.

5. Cash : It is recommended that you go to a bank and exchange money for Korean money before leaving the country, as there may be some friends who do not speak Korean very well. Then, when you come to Korea, you will not be embarrassed if you do not have Korean money. Of course, if you bring a card with the UnionPay logo, you can exchange real-time exchange rates at Korean ATMs.

These are all my suggestions.

All other daily necessities can be purchased when you come to Korea, so there is no need to buy and bring them home. Doing this is tiring and meaningless.

Recommended place to buy household goods: Daiso

The goods here are equivalent to our domestic 5¥ stores, and they are all relatively profitable. And many of the products are made in China, so everyone is relatively friendly to use.

Hope this helps!
