Have you ever participated in an extracurricular activity competition while studying abroad? Don't think that just studying well is enough. Of course studying at university is important, but we need to have a different experience. It is also a study, and it is helpful for our future development. So today I would like to recommend a competition called the Korean Literary Translation Award. Come take a look with me!

The Korea Literature Translation Institute, which hosted this competition, planned and held it to discover new translators of the new Hallyu that can lead Korean cultural contents. This year's contest category added comics from the existing literature (books) and movies. You can choose your field of interest and submit your work. But what specific requirements do you have? A prerequisite is that you must be new to the field of translation. Most college students who are still in school, like us, fit this criteria well. If the conditions are met, you can select the translation work, translate it, and submit the application, personal information collection agreement, and work by the deadline.

You can select the work in the table below as the entry you would like to translate . However, it should be noted that different departments have different languages that need to be translated. First of all, nine languages (including English, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese (simplified/traditional), Japanese, and Vietnamese) are available for the literature section, and five languages (including English, French, Spanish, Japanese, and Vietnamese) are available for the manga section. , The last movie is also in 5 languages (including French, Spanish, Chinese (Simplified), Japanese and Vietnamese). In addition, prizes will be awarded to one winner per language per category, and a plaque and prize money of KRW 5 million will be awarded to the winner. Therefore, please note that only one language and one department can be applied per person. In addition, all teams do not accept joint translations, and if plagiarism is found, the prize will be revoked.

Finally, submit your artwork! The submission period is from June 1st to July 31st, and submissions can be submitted directly via e-mail (Literature Department: newtranslators@klti.or.kr , Cartoon & Movie Department: mediatranslation@klti.or.kr ), and required documents. contains the participation application form, personal information collection agreement (downloadable from the Korean Literature Translation Institute website), and entry manuscripts.

This contest is very helpful to us. Especially for our Korean Language and Literature students, we must actually use what we have learned. Through this contest, we will find out what you learned in college and show you your Korean skills. There is also a chance to win a prize, but aren't you excited about the prize of 5 million won? So I hope you will participate in this competition and make many good memories in your college life.
