Hello~😊

There are so many holidays in Korea these days, right? It's a holiday from today to Monday, so it's great that I don't have to go to school.

Shall we find out about public holidays in Korea these days?

1️⃣ Korean Public Holiday - Buddha's Birthday

Buddha's Birthday is a ceremonial day celebrated in Buddhism. This day is celebrated in various ways in each country to honor Buddhist events, including Buddha's birthday, 'Lunar Eclipse Day' and his spiritual enlightenment, 'Enlightenment Day in the Wilderness'.

Buddha's Birthday is celebrated on May 27 this year, and may be rescheduled according to the Western Gregorian calendar in countries following the Western Gregorian calendar. In many Buddhist countries, this day is a public holiday, and temples and monasteries hold events in which Buddhists gather to practice, read sutras, and honor Buddha.

On the Buddha's birthday , Buddhist temples and temples hold a fire ceremony ( 🔖 rite of burning fire), and gongyang (a rite of offering 🔖 food as a sacrifice) to honor the Buddha. Practitioners try to find enlightenment for self-liberation through meditation.

Buddha's Birthday is a very important day for Buddhists, and it contains the meaning of honoring and honoring the teachings of Buddha.

2️⃣ Korean public holiday Memorial Day

The second public holiday these days is Memorial Day. This year, Memorial Day is on June 6th. Remembrance Day is a day to honor and remember the soldiers who died in war.

Ceremonies such as Memorial Day are officially designated not only in Korea but also in many other countries. It is mainly a memorial day for soldiers who died in war.

Remembrance Day in other countries is celebrated every year in the United States on the last Monday of May and in Canada on November 11th. In China, Memorial Day is designated around April 4th in the lunar calendar every year.

Remembrance Day is a time to express our respect and gratitude to the soldiers who died in war. In Korea, various events are held, such as visiting battlefields, military cemeteries, and memorials, offering flowers for soldiers, and holding commemorative events and marches.

Remembrance Day is an important day to pay tribute to the sacrifice and dedication of soldiers, highlighting national identity and historical memory. Through this, the people emphasize the cruelty of war and the preciousness of peace, and recognize and honor the sacrifices of soldiers.
