If you are a student, there are many cases where you have a lot of luggage and sometimes you have to send parcels home from Korea. First of all, there are two ways to send a courier from Korea to overseas by sending by ems or by dhl at the post office. Both are similar companies, but I know that the dhl company was originally German.

1. Send overseas parcels from Korea to the post office

In order to send parcels to the post office, of course, the items to be sent must be packed first. You can go directly to the post office and purchase a box. The price is different for each size, and the largest seems to be size 10. No. 1 is 400 won, No. 2 is 500 won, No. 3 is 600 won, No. 5 is 1700 won, No. 7 is 1900 won, No. 8 is 2100 won, and No. 9 is 2300 won. The box size is also important, it should be at most 600+400+300 cm.

And, go to the nearest post office and write down where you are sending the package, that is, the address, the recipient's name, and contact information, and then write the sender's name, address, and contact information. And when you write down the sender's address, it's important to write down the zip code. It's not important when sending domestically, but it's important because you're sending it overseas.

After you are ready to send, take a numbered ticket at the post office and wait. Originally, you can take a numbered ticket first and then pack it, but if you are going to pack it at the post office, it may take a long time, so I think it would be better to pack it all and then take a numbered ticket. When your number tag is displayed, go and pick up the item to be sent and place it on the scale to see the weight and the fare will come out. When you receive a receipt after payment, you can attach the receipt and check where the shipment is with this. I went the other day and they sent me a receipt via KakaoTalk. So you can do whatever you want.

The post office is open from 9am to 6pm and is closed on public holidays and weekends.

The next method I will tell you is dhl.

Send overseas courier by DHL from Korea

DHL seems to have a difference of about 1,000 won compared to the post office, and it seems to provide almost the same service. You can register as a member, enter your information, and send the courier, or you can go and send it yourself. Operating hours are the same as post offices from 9:00 to 18:00. It is also a day off on public holidays and weekends. Prices vary by country or by kg. I've never gone to DHL and received it, so I don't know if you can buy a box. You can go and check it out for yourself.

There are two ways to send parcels, and Koreans seem to use both frequently. I've tried both and it doesn't seem to make much of a difference. When you need to send a courier, you can go to the post office like this or send it by DHL. I hope this helps and thanks for reading.
