Are dormitories mandatory?
International students in Korea can live in the school's dormitory or rent a private room outside. But usually, before being allowed to live outside, it is mandatory to stay in a dormitory for 6 months, in the case of language learning. There are also optional fields, it's up to each school. Like the Pusan school I am attending, language students are required to stay in the dormitory for 6 months, then they will be allowed to go out. As for the case of bachelor's and master's as well as doctorate, it is not mandatory, it is the right of each person to choose.
