Introduction to Suseongmot Lake
Suseongmot Lake is a pond located in Dusan-dong, Suseong-gu, Daegu, and is a representative attraction of Daegu.
Suseongmot Lake was built in 1925 by the Japanese Rintaro Mizusaki with support from the Japanese Government-General of Korea. Rintaro was buried next to Suseongmot Lake. In 1991, Suseongmot Lake was renovated into an eco-friendly lake park through an ecological restoration project by removing concrete structures, introducing clear water from Sincheon, and planting various waterside and aquatic plants.
Suseongmot Lake is also the background of national poet Lee Sang-hwa's poem, “Will Spring Come to the Stolen Fields?” Around Suseongmot Lake, there are spaces where you can enjoy various cultures and leisure activities, including Suseong Lake Square, Sanghwa Garden, Nest Island, Deck Road, Observation Deck, Ecological Observation Deck, and Waterside Stage. Suseongmot Lake can also enjoy the night view through events such as the Media Art Music Fountain and the Suseong Light Art Festival.

Lala Gopchang Tteok Suseongmot Main Branch: This place sells Korean beef tripe tteokbokki and green onion cutlet. Tteokbokki with tripe, daechang, perilla leaves, and minced garlic has a spicy and rich taste, and golden-brown pork cutlet goes well with sweet chili sauce. There are also a variety of side menus such as ramen noodles, assorted fried foods, tteokcho kimbap, daechang rice bowl, corn cheese fried rice, and red bean shaved ice.
Tsap: This is a place where you can enjoy pizza and pasta baked in an oven. The pizza is chewy and crispy, and the pasta is cheap and soft. There is a terrace with a view of Suseongmot Lake, so the atmosphere is nice.
Seomin Galbi: This is a place where you can get unlimited refills of jjim galbi, ssam, kimchi, and soybean paste stew. Jjimgalbi is soft, chewy, and well seasoned. It tastes better when eaten with ssam.
Mr. Red Bean House: This place sells red bean shaved ice and injeolmi shaved ice made with domestic red beans. Red bean shaved ice has chewy and sweet red beans, and Injeolmi shaved ice contains glutinous rice cake and condensed milk. The snowflake ice melts gently in your mouth and is refreshing.
