KTX-Cheongryong, a new era train

And now, starting this May, the faster and more comfortable KTX-Cheongryong train will run on the railway. KTX-Cheongryong, which was designed and manufactured with 100% domestic technology after nearly 8 years of research and development, brings a significant change in speed compared to the existing KTX.

The biggest advantage of KTX-Cheongryong is its speed. The design speed is 352 km/h, and it is the fastest train in Korea, capable of running at a maximum speed of 320 km/h. In addition, it has excellent acceleration performance and is designed to suit the geographical characteristics of Korea, where the distance between stations is narrow.

A more comfortable trip

Unlike existing high-speed trains, the KTX-Cheongryong is a 'power distribution type' in which all carriages use power, so there is no need for a separate locomotive. This increases the number of seats per flight by about 35%, improving passenger convenience. Each seat is equipped with individual windows, a 220V outlet, and a wireless charger to help passengers travel comfortably.

KTX-Cheongryong, opens a new horizon of mobility

KTX-Cheongryong is offered at the same fare as the existing KTX and is operated as an 'express high-speed rail' that minimizes intermediate stops. You will be able to travel between Seoul and Busan in 2 hours and 17 minutes, and between Yongsan and Gwangju Songjeong in 1 hour and 36 minutes. In addition, once the Pyeongtaek-Osong double track is completed, 17 additional Cheongryongs are scheduled to be deployed by 2027. KTX-Cheongryong will promote Korea's train technology to the world and provide more convenient and safer travel.
