Yongsan Park is a large urban park located in Yongsan-gu, Seoul. It is a place where part of the Yongsan Base, once used as a US military base, has been opened to the public, and has been known as a major transportation hub since the Joseon Dynasty. Yongsan Park contains important scenes from modern Korean history, so it has great historical value. In 2022, some of the site was temporarily opened, and among them, the "partially opened site" is currently a space where citizens can enjoy walking and cultural activities.
Yongsan Park Partial Open Area is open daily from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with last admission at 5:00 PM. From November 9, 2024 to February 1, 2025, it will be open every Saturday night from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM, with last admission and indoor access at 8:00 PM. It is closed every Monday, and admission is free!
The main attractions include a large Christmas tree and various photo zones. In addition, exotic decorations such as the 'Santa Workshop House' are installed. Some of the interiors of the buildings have been remodeled and operated as exhibition spaces and cafes, so you can relax comfortably indoors even in cold weather~
However, it may be better to visit on a weekday as there may be many visitors on Saturday nights. It is really cold these days so I recommend you dress warmly when you visit! 😊
