I traveled to Sangju, Gyeongsangbuk-do with my friend this fall. I planned this trip because I wanted to experience Korea’s traditional beauty and nature up close, and Sangju completely met my expectations. Today, I’ll share my trip with you~

1️⃣ Introduction to Sangju-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea

Sangju is a city with a combination of urban and rural areas located in Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, and is famous for its rich natural environment, long history, and specialized industries. Sangju is called the “Land of Three Hundred,” and is a city where you can feel both long tradition and modern charm. Sangju is also famous for producing rice and dried persimmons.

2️⃣ Sangju World Hat Festival

On October 3rd of this year, I went to the 2024 Sangju World Hat Festival with my friends. The festival was held near the Sangju Museum, and it was a truly unique and interesting event where you could experience hats and cultures from around the world. The 2024 Sangju World Hat Festival was not just a festival to see hats, but a special experience where you could experience various cultures and creativity. Through this festival, I felt not only the charm of Sangju, but also the passion and warmth of the Sangju people.

3️⃣ Horseback Riding Experience

One of the most special experiences during this trip to Sangju was the horseback riding experience at the Sangju International Equestrian Center Youth Equestrian Education Center. It is located at 1 International Equestrian Center-ro, Sangju-si, Gyeongbuk, and has the best facilities and environment for learning and experiencing horseback riding. Sangju has a unique environment and resources related to horseback riding due to its historical, geographical, and cultural background, and has established itself as a center of the horseback riding industry. At first, I was a little unfamiliar and scared of getting close to horses, but thanks to the guidance of the friendly instructors and the gentle nature of the horses, I was able to adapt quickly. It was so much fun!

Today, I shared my Sangju travel story. I think Sangju is a city that is worth visiting at least once. I felt a different charm of Korea through this Sangju trip. If you have time, I recommend you visit there too! 😊
