Everyone, one of the biggest advantages of living in Seoul is that you can often go to the Han River. The Han River runs through Seoul and provides a space where you can enjoy nature and leisure even in the city life. There are many parks along the Han River, but each park has its own unique charm. Today, I will introduce you to the parks along the Han River that I have visited over the past half year!
Banpo Hangang Park is a Hangang park located in Seocho-gu, Seoul. Banpo Hangang Park is especially famous for its Moonlight Rainbow Fountain. It is also a very popular tourist attraction, where you can enjoy leisure time in nature while also feeling the sophisticated urban charm. I enjoyed a picnic with my friends in the fall, laying out a mat. It was really healing to spend time sitting on the lawn and looking at the Hangang River in the warm weather.
Banpo Hangang Park is also well known as a night view spot. The Moonlight Rainbow Fountain, Sebitseom Island lights, and the riverside scenery under Banpo Bridge are all great places to take pictures. However, the fountain show times may vary depending on the season, so it is recommended to check the Hangang Project Headquarters website in advance before visiting.
Yeouido Hangang Park is a Hangang Park located in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. At Yeouido Hangang Park, various busking performances such as music, magic, and dance are often held every weekend evening. I went there in the summer and the atmosphere was really good. It was a unique healing time in the city, where I simply laid out a mat and sat down to enjoy the performance while feeling the warm breeze.
Ttukseom Hangang Park is a park located in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, and is close to Seoul Forest, making it a great place to visit both places. It offers a lively atmosphere with many active activities such as water sports and camping zones. Ttukseom Hangang Park is a place where you can feel a different charm and atmosphere from Yeouido and Banpo Hangang Park.
