What did you do during the early May holidays? Some of you may have traveled? I didn’t go far, but I went to Mangwon Market with a friend! It was my first time going to Mangwon Market, but it was much more delicious and fun than I thought. Today, I’m going to introduce Mangwon Market to you!
Mangwon Market is a traditional market located in Mapo-gu, Seoul! These days, it is emerging as a hot place among the MZ generation, so I was curious about it and went there. Maybe because it was the weekend, there were a lot of people, and I saw quite a few foreign tourists.
As soon as I entered the market entrance, there were various foods lined up, but the ones that caught my eye the most were tteokbokki, croffles, and fried twisters! I couldn't help but buy a bunch of them because they looked so good. I personally thought the fried twisters were the best! I want to go back and buy some more next time~
And when you go to Mangwon Market, you can't miss the famous fried chicken restaurant. Of course, I went there! The line was quite long, but as soon as I took a bite, I understood why people were waiting. It was so delicious! You can choose between spicy and mild, and I chose spicy~
On one side of the market, there were cute accessory shops and vintage clothing stores, so it was fun to look around with a friend. Time flies by as you look at clothes and accessories. I ended up buying a lot without even realizing it while going with a friend!
The best part is that, although it is a market, it has a good mix of traditional and modern sensibilities. There are a lot of pretty cafes around Mangwon Market, and it’s close to the Han River, so I think it’s really great. You can eat something delicious at the market and go to a cafe for dessert, so I think you’ll have a great time no matter who you go with!
