A few days ago, I went on a short day trip to Paju, Gyeonggi-do, near Seoul. I was worried about the rain, but I think I was able to enjoy the atmosphere thanks to the cloudy weather. It was the Paju Imjingak Peace Gondola experience!

1️⃣ Imjingak Peace Gondola

Paju is a city located about an hour away from Seoul. It is one of the cities closest to North Korea. The Imjingak Peace Gondola that I visited this time is famous as the only gondola that allows you to see beyond the civilian access control line. When you ride the gondola, you can see the DMZ from the sky! As the cable car moves, it passes barbed wire and a river, and that moment was truly unforgettable.

2️⃣ Landmine Warning Photo Zone

When I arrived at the boarding point, I walked a little and there was a park. There was a point where the triangular warning sign that said “MINE” stood out. The barbed wire, the ground guide line, and the atmosphere of the surrounding area were impressive. I took pictures with a careful and reverent mind, and many people were taking certification shots with this as the background.

3️⃣ Souvenir shop

There was also a corner for North Korean souvenirs and stamps. The commemorative stamps and banknotes featuring North Korean sports, people, and architecture were colorful and unique, so I took a look. They also sold rainbow-colored handkerchiefs, key rings, and bags, which were very interesting.

During the gondola ride, it rained and the scenery outside looked hazy, but thanks to that, I was able to enjoy the scenery with a more mysterious and calm feeling. At first, I was a little disappointed with the trip to Paju on a rainy day, but in the end, it was a more profound experience~ Next time, when the weather is good, I want to go to Paju again!
