Introduction of Picasso and 20th century masters held in Korea
This exhibition held in Korea was divided into a total of six themes.
First, it introduces the artists of the 1900s, such as Wassily Kandinsky and Kazimir Malevich, under the theme of German expressionism and Russian avant-garde. At that time, there were many works that expressed emotions with colors and shapes before World War I. It is said that before Germany was occupied by the Nazis, there were many people who went to do art in Russia. However, many works were banned due to the war, and all Russians returned home.
The second theme was Picasso and contemporary masters, the highlight of this exhibition. The Ludwig Museum is said to be the third largest museum in the world with the largest number of Picasso's works. That's why you can see so many Picasso paintings in this section. Personally, Picasso's works were the most impressive.
The third theme was from Surrealism to Abstract Expressionism. The works of Antony Tapies and Jackson Pollock stood out most in this section. The reason for this was the feeling that the works are getting closer and closer to contemporary art.
The fourth theme was pop art and everyday life. It was a time when people's consumption changed as factories increased after World War II. There were many works criticizing this era when it was possible to destroy the environment and buy people's labor cheaply.
Afterwards, the fifth and sixth themes were conscious of trends, and exhibited works related to minimalism and German contemporary art and new trends according to the trend of the times.
