Everyone, you all know how expensive it is to move in Korea. It usually costs hundreds of thousands of won. This is my 6th time moving in Korea, and I was worried about how to move my stuff as it kept increasing. But I found a very cheap and convenient way to move, so I'm going to share it with you soon! 😊
Just use the Kakao T app! Click on Quick Delivery in the app and select Damis Quick. Choose a vehicle based on the amount of luggage you have! Then just enter the information and you're done!
Kakao T Quick Delivery Service is much cheaper if you make a reservation in advance. You can significantly reduce the cost by making a reservation just one day in advance. However, if you call on the same day without a reservation, the cost can be more than double, so make sure to make a reservation with plenty of time to spare! If you want to save on moving costs, please remember that reservations are essential!
When applying for the service, it is a good idea to write down in detail the number and size of the luggage you are moving in the notes section. For example, you can write something like "5 boxes, 2 carriers." This will help the driver move your luggage and prevent additional charges or unnecessary misunderstandings. For reference, I wrote it like the photo below!
If the driver helps you load or unload your luggage, there is an additional charge of 6,000 won. However, in my personal experience, this amount was not a big burden, and I was very satisfied because it saved me time and energy. The driver I met was particularly kind, and he carried almost all my luggage himself, so I only carried light luggage.
This method is not only much cheaper than using a traditional moving company, but it is also easy to use, so I highly recommend it to international students living alone!
