I had Dongtae Jjigae a while ago. It was my first time and I had never had a fishy stew before, so I was a little worried that it would be fishy. But when I actually tried it, I didn't have to worry at all! Today, I'm going to introduce you to Dongtae Jjigae, one of the Korean stews.

1️⃣ Introduction to Dongtae Jjigae

Dongtae Jjigae is a traditional Korean stew made with frozen pollack called 'dongtae' as the main ingredient! Because frozen fish is used, the meat is soft and the broth is richer. It is said that it is a food that is often eaten in Korea, especially in the winter. Spring has come, but it is still a little cold in Seoul, so it is the perfect time to eat Dongtae Jjigae! The broth is refreshing and tangy. It is the best meal to warm up your body in cold weather~

2️⃣ Dongtae Jjigae Ingredients

The Dongtae Jjigae I ate had ingredients like Dongtae, radish, green onions, bean sprouts, and water parsley. And the broth seasoned with red pepper powder, garlic, soybean paste, and soy sauce was really rich. In particular, the radish made the broth taste refreshing, and the bean sprouts and water parsley had a crunchy texture, which was delicious.

And it is cheaper than you think, despite the many ingredients . It is really filling for a meal. Also, it is refreshing but not too spicy. Rather, it has a light and healthy taste because of the fish. If there is anyone who has not tried Dongtae Jjigae yet, I recommend you try it. I think I will think of it in the winter :)
