What did you all do for Chuseok? I had a great time and ate well. Today, I'll introduce you to a place worth visiting in Suwon, a city near Seoul.

1️⃣ Suwon Hwaseong Fortress

As I was walking along the fortress wall, which was starting to get dark, I came across a charming cafe. I took a break, had a cup of tea, and enjoyed the night view. This cafe is located in Haenggung-dong, right in front of Hwaseong Haenggung Palace. I loved the view of Hwaseong Fortress and the surrounding scenery. The atmosphere was quiet, and the lighting was soft, making it the perfect place to relax.

2️⃣ Suwon Hwaseong Media Art

Coming out of the cafe, I saw something promoting the Suwon Hwaseong Media Art Program. This festival started in 2021! It's a nighttime art festival that reinterprets King Jeongjo's dreams and Joseon's values ​​through light and video, with Suwon Hwaseong Fortress as the backdrop. This year, it runs from September 27 to October 12, 2025, every night from 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM. The venue is Hwaseomun Gate, Janganmun Gate, and Jangan Park. And admission is free! This media art also uses AI and special effects, creating many scenes that are much more three-dimensional and immersive.

The media art wasn't just a beautiful display of light; it also conveyed the message of harmony and inclusion that King Jeongjo dreamed of, which was incredibly moving. The passage itself, with light and video streaming across the walls and subtle effects spreading as visitors walked, was truly a work of art. If you happen to be in Suwon, don't miss it!
