Today, I'd like to introduce some food and attractions to international students planning a trip to Suwon. Let's take a look together.

1️⃣ Suwon Fried Chicken

I heard that Suwon's "Tongdak Street" is incredibly famous, and I went there myself this time. As soon as you enter the alley, the savory smell of oil wafts through the air. It's truly "chicken heaven" haha. Each store has an old sign. We ordered fried chicken and seasoned chicken, and as soon as we took a bite, I thought, "Ah, this is the taste of Suwon!" It was truly delicious. There were more foreign tourists than I expected, and it seems like the fried chicken is delicious to foreigners too!

2️⃣ Suwon Hwaseong Palace

In the evening, I went to Suwon Hwaseong Temporary Palace. The lights were on because it was nighttime, and the red pillars and blue Dancheong (traditional Korean painting) were truly beautiful. With quiet music playing and a gentle breeze blowing, I felt like I'd been transported to another era. I heard that the Temporary Palace is where King Jeongjo of Joseon stayed to visit his father, Crown Prince Sado's tomb, and that it's a historic site steeped in his filial piety and dedication. Knowing that it was also where King Jeongjo himself resided made it even more meaningful. I also went inside to see the filming locations for the drama Dae Jang Geum.

3️⃣ Suwon Byeolmadang Library

The last place I visited was the Byeolmadang Library inside Suwon Starfield . I've also been to the Byeolmadang Library in COEX, Seoul, but the Suwon branch felt even warmer and prettier. On the softly lit stairs, there were people reading, couples taking pictures, and students studying on their laptops. Everyone seemed to be having their own time, haha.

Suwon was a much more charming city than I expected. It truly felt like a city where past and present, people and flavors, coexist. I'd love to come back again sometime if I have time.
