Hello~ I am a writer from China.

In the previous article, I explained two important conditions that you must remember about visa and national health insurance when you come to Korea.

Foreigners who have been issued a visa in Korea can work part-time under certain conditions. However, Korean students must obtain a work permit (打工证) to legally work part-time.

International student visa is divided into D-2 visa and D-4 visa , and only international students with D-2Q visa can apply for a work permit . However, you can work full-time during winter and summer vacations.

Persons applying for work permits must be processed either offline or online.

Offline applications must be processed by the local foreigner management department (foreign immigration authority).

You must apply online at https://www.hikorea.go.kr/ homepage.

Documents required for application for work permit are passport, visa (alien registration card), certificate of enrollment, employment documents signed by the school, TOPIK report card (if not available), copy of business registration card, standard contract, and part-time employment confirmation.

The above documents can be requested through the website or two channels within the foreigner management department.

Please note that the current minimum hourly wage in Korea is 9620 won per hour. If you fall below this hourly wage, you can report the business or communicate with the boss.

Now, let me tell you about the dangers and things to be careful of when exchanging money in Korea.

For us international students, living in Korea can't help but cost money. Then, how can I exchange my Korean money for Korean money? There are two ways.

The first is to exchange money at a bank . Usually, this is the safest and cheapest place. Since the exchange rate of the bank is updated in real time, we do not worry about the low or high exchange rate. However, the bank has to pay a fee when exchanging money, and the fee You have to pay a fee every time you exchange money. The exchange fee in Korea is usually around 15¥ . Please refer to it.

The second is personal exchange, which is the least recommended method. This is because in Korea, accounts are closed every year because international students exchange money through other channels. All account balances are frozen. What is more serious is that it is against Korean law and is subject to legal sanctions. However, the most serious It is more appropriate to exchange money with a close friend. I think you can save on fees.

For those traveling to Korea, it is recommended to bring a credit card or pay with Alipay. You can exchange small amounts at a bank outside the airport, just in case. However, the exchange rate is lower than the real-time exchange rate, so do not exchange money at the airport exchange office.

Please refer to all the suggestions I made to the children above. I hope this helps!
