Have you ever been to Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do? I went there last semester, and it was a really charming city. Today, I will share my Pohang trip with you~

Pohang is a city located on the east coast of Gyeongsangbuk-do. It is a representative industrial city of Korea and an attractive travel destination boasting beautiful nature and abundant food.

1️⃣ Pohang Homigot Sunrise Square

I visited Homigot Sunrise Square in Pohang, and it was a very meaningful experience where I could feel the special culture and beauty of Korea. The reason I visited Homigot was because I heard that it is one of the most famous sunrise spots in Korea. In particular, Homigot is located at the easternmost tip of the Korean Peninsula, so I heard that many people gather here every New Year's Day to watch the sunrise. It wasn't New Year's Day for me, but the view from there was really pretty. The most famous landmark of Homigot Sunrise Square, the 'Hands of Harmony' sculpture, was also impressive. It was also a great spot to take pictures!

2️⃣ Yeongildae Beach

After looking around Homigot, we went to Yeongildae Beach. This place is close to downtown Pohang, so it’s easy to access. The beach is clean and wide, so it was really nice to take a walk, and I felt relaxed as I walked while looking out at the East Sea. In particular, there are many nice cafes and restaurants near Yeongildae Beach, so it was a great place to spend some leisurely time after enjoying the beach. I had a delicious drink at a cafe in front of the beach and enjoyed the view of the ocean, which was really nice.

In addition, I also went to Pohang's Spacewalk. Spacewalk is a spiral staircase that you walk along, and as you go up, you can see the East Sea and Pohang city at a glance. In particular, if you visit in the evening, you can see the sunset and the night view of Pohang at the same time. It's really pretty~

Pohang is a place where you can feel both natural beauty and a leisurely city atmosphere. As an international student, it was a valuable trip where I could experience the various charms of Korea in one place. If you have time, please visit there too!
