Everyone! Today, I'd like to introduce you to the "27th World Korean Speech Contest for Foreigners," hosted by the Kyung Hee University Institute of International Education. Let's watch together!
The "27th World Korean Speech Contest for Foreigners," hosted by Kyung Hee University's Institute of International Education, is a valuable platform for international students of all nationalities to showcase their Korean language skills and connect their cultures with Korea. The finals will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Kyung Hee University's Crown Hall in Seoul. Any foreigner who can speak Korean is eligible to participate, and applicants must not have previously won a speech contest hosted by Kyung Hee University's Institute of International Education.
All applications will be accepted online, and the deadline for submissions is Friday, September 5, 2025. Applicants must submit a presentation manuscript (one page of A4 paper) of no more than three minutes along with their application. Participants will be selected through a preliminary screening process. The preliminary round will take place on Thursday, September 18th and Friday, September 19th, and will be the final step toward the finals!
And there are some truly generous prizes waiting for the winners. The grand prize will be 1.5 million won, the top prizes will each be 1 million won (2 winners), and there will be more than 10 winners, including special, excellence, and encouragement prizes! Every year, this contest brings together international students with diverse backgrounds and stories to share their inspiring stories. International students who want to share their moments of connection with Korea, give it a try!
