1st War E mart

Many friends probably know E-Mart, and there are many friends who think that it is No. 1, right? E-Mart, with its common yellow logo, is the biggest mart in Korea! As a discount store chain affiliated with the Shinsegae Group, the name E-Mart is an abbreviation of 'Everyday low price MART'. Opened as Asia's first pure capital discount store, it is a nationwide discount store that represents the epitome of large discount stores in Korea today. In 1993, after Shinsegae Department Store set up a mass sales division under its umbrella, the first E-Mart store opened in Chang-dong, Seoul on November 12th. There is a wide variety of products, and there is also 'No Brand', a brand of E-Mart, which sells products at really low prices, so it is a popular and competitive mart brand. There is even an Emart e-card. If you apply for a card and use it, you can receive many benefits and things to do!

2- Home Plus

The interesting story of this mart brand is that on September 4, 1997, Homeplus was launched as a branch of Samsung C&T's distribution division! Wow~ It's Samsung again haha. From April 1999, on April 20, 1999, Samsung C&T and Tesco, a British distributor, established Samsung Tesco as a joint venture, and until April 2011, Homeplus was owned by Samsung Tesco. And from April 2011 to September 2015, Homeplus was operated entirely by Tesco, and from September 2015 to the present, a company called MBK Partners is running Homeplus! If you look at the origin, Homeplus is the brother of E-Mart haha. In the past, Homeplus was Korea's best hypermarket, but E-Mart lost its place.

3- Costco Costco

I thought the third place would be Lotte Mart, but it's Costco. Have you guys been to Costco? really really good! It is a hypermarket that has developed and become hot in the past few years at an incredibly fast pace. Just by looking at the style, you can guess which country the brand is from. Finish! It's American. Costco is known for its bulk sales. All items are larger than regular marts, and the site is really big! It can be many times bigger! Plus, it's cheap, so it's popular with people. If you're a friend who hasn't been to Costco yet, give it a go~ It's fun just to look around~~ haha.

4 Lotte Mart

In the past, it was the best mart in Korea, but it gradually lost its place to new marts. But it is still top 3 among Korean mart brands. It's from the Lotte Group, so it sells a lot of Lotte-related items, and there are events to do, and it's a large mart, so it has a variety of items!

5- Hanaro Mart

Do you know which company it is from? Rather than a company, Hanaro Mart belongs to Nonghyup. When you think of Nonghyup, you immediately think of Nonghyup Bank, right? But the Nonghyup is an agricultural association. That's why Hanaro Mart is famous for its agricultural and livestock products!. It goes without saying that agricultural and livestock products are cheaper than general discount stores, and the quality is good. In a word, value for money. And for other items, we offer prices that are slightly more expensive or similar to those of other discount stores!
