Everyone~ Hello!! Have you ever seen a noir film in Korea? Do you know what film noir genre is? There are so many films in the noir genre in Korea. Today, we will take a closer look at the contents of the noir genre.

This word, which can also be called 'noir' or 'noir' , is a French word meaning 'black', and it was introduced to France after World War II in the 1940s and 1950s.   Among Hollywood films, it was a B-grade film made with a relatively low budget, and it was a term referring to crime and thrillers with a dark atmosphere. It can be seen as referring to a dark and tense suspense movie, right?~! In fact, this characteristic atmosphere better describes noir than the genre itself.

The reason why the word 'noir' came to be widely used by us was in the mid-1980s when Hong Kong noir, such as films directed by Oh Woo-sam and Chow Yun-fat, such as 〈The Hero Is Born〉 and 〈The Concubine, Twin Heroes〉, came into Korea in earnest.
