Suseongmot Lake was built in 1925 by the Japanese Rintaro Mizusaki with support from the Japanese Government-General of Korea. Rintaro was buried next to Suseongmot Lake. In 1991, Suseongmot Lake was renovated into an eco-friendly lake park through an ecological restoration project by removing concrete structures, introducing clear water from Sincheon, and planting various waterside and aquatic plants.
